Chiayi Regional Revitalization Center Committed to Creating a Happy, Liveable City
Chiayi Regional Revitalization Center (CRRC) officially opened at Chiayi Cultural & Creative Industries Park on April 9th. The CRRC was established by the Enterprise Incubation Center, National Chiayi University, which has been seeking resources from Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA), Ministry of Economic Affairs, with joint efforts from the Chiayi City Government Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee (IDIPC), Chiayi, Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan, and Xinjia Cultural Creative Co., Ltd. Its objective is to integrate local industrial revitalization platforms, offer integrated services to local small and medium enterprises, with a view to driving regional revitalization via economic initiatives, and creating frameworks for stimulating dynamism in local industries.
NCYU President Ay indicated that CRRC was the culmination of efforts of the NCYU Enterprise Incubation Center in integrating related resources, and incorporating locally incubated industries and capacity of entrepreneurship guidance. It has been collaborating with its partners to boost regional economic development, and build an innovative business environment in Chiayi. It has also been working with private associations and others in linking locally incubated small and medium enterprises with youth entrepreneurship teams. Also by connecting the guidance resources from the central government to regional tiers, it aims to provide integrated services to local small and medium enterprises and youth entrepreneurship teams. By way of merging resources from the private sector through academic-industrial cooperation initiated by NCYU, it hopes to jointly facilitate youth entrepreneurship and innovation businesses, and allow economic development to take root locally, thus spurring general development in Chiayi.
According to Chen Cheng-Nan, Director of the Office for Academia-Industry Collaboration and Continuing Education, NCYU, the core concepts of CRRC include: “integrating local innovation, youth entrepreneurship, and incubation teams; combining the respective expertise of different units; integrating related resources to stimulate regional revitalization in Chiayi; and enhancing regional economic development.” CRRC offers services to small and medium enterprises and youth entrepreneurship teams not only in the cultural and creative industries, but also in such fields as agriculture, fisheries, and food processing.
Director Chen added if CRRC is like a galaxy, then its key partners are like stars, who shoulder heavy responsibilities to help incubate the “planetary partners,” or key enterprises such as Yu Cheng Food Co., Ltd., Rongting Investment Co., Ltd., SolarFarm Corporation, and JiaYi Biotechnology Inc. It allows the planetary partners, or companies with a maturer business model, to work hand-in-hand with the “satellite partners,” or youth entrepreneurship and innovation teams, to realize co-prosperity. As part of the CRRC services, the incubated brand of “Exquisite Agriculture Train,” established by the NCYU Enterprise Incubation Center, will offer guidance and technical support. By cooperating with the IDIPC of Chiayi City Government, Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Joint Services Center of Executive Yuan, and Xinjia Cultural Creative Co., Ltd., it seeks to provide related resources to help facilitate development of local youth entrepreneurship and innovation teams. Together, they will move like the Milky Way that is constantly rotating.
To provide more comprehensive assistance to youth in starting a business, CRRC works with the Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan, and “U-start” College Graduate Entrepreneurial Service Program of the Ministry of Education, and diverse subsidies programs for micro-enterprises, to name just a few. The opening ceremony also featured an exhibition on CRRC’s achievements and various resources. Its ultimate goal is, with joint efforts from nationwide, to make Chiayi a happy, liveable city.
