NCYU President Chyung Ay (left) handed over the seal to new President Han-Chien Lin (right). Handover Ceremony: NCYU President Chyung Ay Hands Over the Baton to New President Han-Chien Lin
The Ceremony of President Handover and Reappointment of Re-elected Presidents for National Universities took place at the auditorium on the 5th floor of the Ministry of Education (MOE) today on Jan. 27th. President Chyung Ay and the new President Han-Chien Lin from National Chiayi University attended the ceremony, accompanied by Secretary-General She-Ching Wu and Dean of Student Affairs Lin Yun-Wei. At the ceremony, supervised by Minister of Education Pan Wen-Chung, NCYU President Chyung Ay handed over the seal to Professor Han-Chien Lin, the 8th President of the university.

Today is the last day of President Chyung Ay’s tenure as the 7th president of NCYU. When President Chyung Ay stepped out of the Office of the President, the staff, each holding a rose in their hands, presented it to him one by one, saying “Thank you!” in gratitude for his four years’ dedication. It was a heartwarming and touching scene that brought tears to the eyes of all present. Looking back on the first year of his appointment, President Ay, despite physical discomfort, stepped into the Administration Building, holding on to his commitment to the university and the NCYU spirit of “never give up. “It has been an arduous past four years, in which he has been working hard to lay the foundation for the next hundred years of NCYU. The staff congratulated President Ay on his recovery to good health and successful completion of his mission to the university. A total of 100 roses were presented to President Ay to wish him happiness and good health in retirement, and continued success in the next journey of his life. He is welcome back anytime to catch up with the colleagues.

Han-Chien Lin, Professor of the Wood Based Materials and Design who takes over the baton as the new NCYU President, will lead all the faculty, staff and students to set out on the road to the next hundred years. NCYU wishes you all a prosperous new year with good luck and fortune.
